Siglap Harmony Circle youth members participated in the Interfaith Iftar & Fireside Chat with Minister of State (MOS) Alvin Tan at the newly renovated Khalid mosque at Joo Chiat. MOS Tan stressed the importance of maintaining racial harmony and cohesion amongst the different races with the recent cases of radicalisation of our youth(s).
It takes a lot of effort to build trust amongst our different races and to protect the common space we all share. We have moved away from being a tolerant society to accepting the different races and religions present in Singapore. We continue to strive to ensure national unity by minimising differences and avoid conflict within our diverse society. By learning to accept one another for who and what they are is an important step in building up a harmonious society.
